Power Studio version 1.22.1

Mon, 15 Sep

Power Studio version 1.22.1 is now available, with a clear focus on mixer integration, remote and multi-studio workflows and mix editing and voice tracking. For stations that connect Power Studio directly to broadcast hardware, this release adds practical control and integration improvements while still including the expected maintenance fixes.

Power Studio users can download version 1.22.1 from the download-page. The full release notes are listed below.

MambaNet control plugin
Power Studio now supports D&R's MambaNet control protocol. Because of this, Power Studio now fully supports the AXUM and AXITE suite of D&R digital mixers. Now there is no need for extra GPIO modules and cabling to fully integrate with this line of digital mixers. Power Studio also supports the AXITE and PCR button-control surfaces e.g. to control the Cart Players, switch between Automation and Live Assist mode and do voice tracking. The MambaNet plugin also supports using the AXUM core as audio matrix for the Multi Studio functionality.

Auto jingle insert
The playlist scheduler can now place automatically scheduled jingles and items with content type Voice track, automatically as inserts in the intro of a track. Only jingles which are marked with the "Allow auto-insert" checkbox will be scheduled as inserts. This functionality can be tweaked in the Format Planner's new module "Format Settings".

Multi Studio
The LabJack, VM110 and VM1140 control plugins, now also export control signals for the Multi Studio functionality. This allows Power Studio to also use legacy or analogue audio switchers such as the RB-SS10 for Multi Studio switching.

Playout
Power Studio's Smart CUE functionality can now be manually turned off and on (it was always on) to make the transition for DJ's and technicians, who are used to working with legacy systems, easier.

Improvements & Bug Fixes

  • When Power Studio audio settings, force the use of (legacy) Direct Sound, Direct Sound is now also used for recording.
  • Made loading of settings when the stored settings are significantly newer, more stable.
  • Extended the licencing system to support more complex setups.
  • Updated external components for increased performance and stability.
  • Various internal fixes and improvements.
