Decision Questions
Before changing the system, answer these questions:
- Which computer is responsible for on-air playout?
- Where is the shared database?
- Where are the audio files stored?
- Which computers need to play, preview or record audio?
- Which workflows must keep working when the internet, VPN or a remote stream fails?
- Which integrations need external control, metadata output, traffic import or dynamic content?
If the answer affects live broadcast, plan the change outside live operation and test it on a non-critical workstation first.
