Voice Tracking Workflow

Use this guide when a presenter or producer needs to record links before broadcast.

Goal

At the end of the workflow, the playlist should contain saved voice tracks that have been reviewed from the same station environment that will play them on air.

Requirements

  • The playlist for the target hour has been generated or opened.
  • The presenter can access the same database and audio paths as the station workflow requires.
  • The recording folder is configured in Recording.
  • The microphone input and monitoring route are tested.
  • Remote presenters have a working Power Sync or VPN/cache workflow.

Workflow

  1. Open the target playlist and confirm it is the correct date and hour.
  2. Review fixed items such as news, commercials, live sources and timing-critical transitions.
  3. Open Mix Editor And Voice Tracking.
  4. Preview the first transition before recording.
  5. Record the voice track.
  6. Listen back to the transition as it will be heard on air.
  7. Save the transition.
  8. Move to the next transition and repeat the same record, review and save rhythm.
  9. Reopen or refresh the playlist and confirm the voice tracks are present.
  10. Spot-check the first transition, last transition and transitions around fixed items.

Remote Voice Tracking Checks

For remote work, confirm these points before recording a full show:

  • Power Sync has finished synchronizing the required audio, or the VPN/cache workflow can play the real playlist reliably.
  • The workstation is connected to the live station database, not a local test database.
  • One short test recording saves and plays back correctly.
  • The presenter can hear the segue timing clearly enough to record accurate links.
