Timeshift

Timeshift workflows are used when audio must be delayed, shifted or made available at another time.

Use timeshift only after the station has defined the operational reason and recovery procedure. Examples include special broadcast routing, temporary delay workflows or station-specific continuity needs.

Before using timeshift in production, confirm:

  • Which source is recorded or buffered.
  • Where files are stored.
  • How much delay is expected.
  • What happens when the source is interrupted.
  • Who monitors the workflow during broadcast.

Content Type Triggers

The Timeshifting settings page selects which content types start timeshift recording and which content types stop it. Stop behavior is commonly connected to fill-out items, because these items mark a point where the delayed workflow can be closed or handed back.

Review the selected content types before special programming. If a Clock Format changes the content types around a live or delayed segment, the timeshift workflow may start or stop at a different moment than expected.
