Hour And Day Templates

Administrator task. Prepare Block Definitions before building templates.

Create An Hour Template

  1. Open System > Hour templates and select Add hour definition.... The overview calls these Hour definitions.
  2. Enter Template name, such as Daytime two breaks.
  3. Choose an available block and select Add block.
  4. Repeat for the other commercial positions in this hour.
  5. Check the list's minute positions and names; use a row's cross to remove an unwanted block.
  6. Select the form's Add button.
  7. Reopen the template and confirm the saved block list.

The application orders blocks by their start-minute position. A template cannot contain the same definition twice, or two definitions with the same external reference. Use separate hour templates for alternative versions of the same position.

Adding a row to the on-screen list and saving the whole template are separate actions. Check the saved list after leaving the form.

Create A Day Template

  1. Open System > Day templates and select Add day definition.... The overview calls these Day definitions.
  2. Enter Template name, such as Normal weekday.
  3. For each hour from 00 through 23, select the appropriate hour template.
  4. Leave an hour at -None- only when no commercial structure is intended there.
  5. Select Add and reopen the template to check all 24 hours.

For example, use a quiet-hours template overnight, Daytime two breaks during the day, and another structure for specialist evening programmes. Assigning an hour template to 08 means the 08:00-08:59 hour.

Finally assign this day template under System > Week template. Creating a day template alone does not make it the station's Monday, weekend or holiday structure.

Change A Reused Template

Use the pencil icon and Save. Template changes request a background layout update and may affect every open date that uses the template. If only one exceptional date should differ, create a separate day template and use a Special Date.

After saving, inspect the affected schedules and warnings. Downloads already obtained by the studio are not revised simply by changing a template.

The delete cross is available only when allowed. Check references from day/week templates and future scheduled use before retiring an hour or day template. Reassign the dependencies first and keep historical information intact.
